WHY DOES MY TV OR RECEIVER TURN ON/OFF WHEN I TURN ON/OFF SHIELD TV?

SHIELD TV is configured by default to send CEC events to wake or sleep your TV and receiver. You can enable or disable these features by going to Settings -> Display & Sound -> Power Control.
