If you have a new SHIELD remote, your battery may report as low but is unlikely to actually be low. Under normal use, the replaceable batteries should last up to a year.
If you see a low battery warning for SHIELD remote or are experience performance issues with the remote, please make sure that you have updated your remote firmware to v1.03 or later.
Either select the “Accessory Update” shown in the recommendation row on the home screen or go to Settings > SHIELD accessories and select your remote and then select the firmware update.
If you are still getting low battery warning after updating the firmware, use a pen to push on the battery tray indentation on the bottom of the remote. Pull out the battery tray, remove the batteries, and then replace the same batteries in the tray and reinsert the battery tray. You should now see full battery level.
