The highest RTX HDR Peak Brightness setting does not match the value advertised by my display.
RTX HDR queries the peak brightness supported by a display from the display’s EDID. RTX HDR will allow the user to set the peak brightness up to the highest value reported by the display EDID (max 2000 nits). Some EDIDs may report a value that is less than what the display supports or not include the information at all.

When I open up NVIDIA app, why doesn't System -> Display show on my laptop?
The dedicated NVIDIA GPU needs to be the primary device to be controlled by NVIDIA app. This can also depend on the type of hybrid graphics notebook used:
- Optimus/MSHybrid systems - Majority of such systems will have the internal panel connected to the noteobook integrated GPU and therefore won't show the "System -> Displays" tab. The NVIDIA app "System -> Displays" tab will be available on Optimus/MSHybrid notebooks if using an external display connected directly to the NVIDIA GPU and the external monitor is the primary display.
- Advance Optimus/Dynamic Display Switching systems: User can check capability via View System Detail dialog in System -> My Rig (System) as shown below:
- Users need to make sure the BIOS setting for display mode is set it to NV GPU/dGPU and not iGPU or Auto
or - Users can switch to NVIDIA GPU only mode from the NVIDIA Control Panel -> Manage Display mode page
