What can I do when the NVIDIA GeForce NOW software installation fails?
In rare cases, the installer package of the NVIDIA GeForce NOW app can fail without an exact error condition. These errors are likely caused by an incorrect system state.
If the NVIDIA GeForce NOW installation fails, try following steps to reset the system state:
- 1. Make sure that no processes of the NVIDIA GeForce NOW app are running. To look for instances of NVIDIA GeForce NOW, open the Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc on Windows PC or Cmd+Opt+Esc on macOS), sort all processes by name and look for processes starting with name “GeForce”. End these processes if found.
- 2. Make sure that no application on your system is accessing files or folders from the install location of the NVIDIA GeForce NOW app located at %LOCALAPPDATA%\NVIDIA Corporation\GeForceNOW.
- 3. Make sure that the windows system is running without any issues and the latest OS updates are installed.
- Now run the NVIDIA GeForce NOW installer again.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, uninstall the NVIDIA GeForce NOW app using the Windows Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs, reboot the system, and then try installation again.
